Directions to Sutton Bonington Campus



By car:


M1 motorway:

The M1 motorway has an access point (Junction 24) at Kegworth, 2 miles from the Campus. From Junction 24, take the exit signposted Loughborough (A6). Very shortly after joining the A6, on the outskirts of Kegworth, take the first turning on the left (signposted to Sutton Bonington). Follow this road through Kegworth and turn right immediately after the Anchor Inn (sign-posted for the University of Nottingham, Sutton Bonington Campus). Then turn right at the next crossroads. Sutton Bonington Campus is on the left. Those travelling by road from the North-west and south by other routes should follow the sign-posted routes from the A6 at Kegworth or Hathern to Sutton Bonington Campus.

From the South:
Leicester via A6 to Loughborough (12 miles)
Loughborough via A6 to Hathern (3 miles)
After passing through Hathern via A6 turn right along the A6006.
After passing through Zouch take the first turning on the left for Sutton Bonington.
Pass through Sutton Bonington, follow the main road up the hill and bear left at top.
Sutton Bonington Campus is on the right.


From the North:

Nottingham - cross Clifton Bridge along the Ring Road and get into the correct lane for Birmingham and M1 marked by overhead signs. Follow the A453 through Clifton, take first exit from the roundabout and continue along the B679 to Gotham, turn right in the centre of the village for Kingston-on-Soar. In Kingston, fork left for Sutton Bonington and pass through the first cross-roads. Sutton Bonington Campus is on the left.

From the North West: From Derby, follow the A6 to the A50. Take the A50 to the roundabout at Junction 24 of the M1. Take the 3rd exit to Kegworth. 0n the outskirts of Kegworth take the first turning on the left (signposted to Sutton Bonington). Follow this road through Kegworth and turn right immediately after the Anchor Inn (sign-posted for the University of Nottingham Sutton Bonington Campus). Then turn right at the next cross-roads. Sutton Bonington Campus is on the left. By bus:


- Barton Buses Rainbow 5B service from Nottingham and Loughborough (stop at the campus main gates).
- South Notts 5 and 5E services from Nottingham and East Midlans Airport (stop at cross-roads near to campus).
- Paul S Winson Coaches Bus 65 service from Nottingham and East Leake (stop at the campus main gates).

Sutton Bonington Campus

Sutton Bonington Campus is one of the University of Nottingham's three campuses. Located in the beautiful countryside of South Nottinghamshire, the campus is a compact 16-hectare site with its own hall of residence, sports centre and social amenities, and state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities dedicated to the study of biosciences in the UK.


Sutton Bonington is a 20 minute bus or car journey from the University Park Campus in Nottingham. A free bus service providing a regular link between the two sites. It is also close to two of the East Midlands' other major cities - Derby (10 miles) and Leicester (15 miles) - with excellent road, rail and air links to the rest of the UK and overseas.
