I am a research fellow working with Dov Stekel in the Multidisciplinary Centre for Integrative Biology, University of Nottingham. We are working on developing and improving mathematical models of light emitting systems (bacterial Lux systems) in P. luminescens as well as developments of methods and software for the inference of promoter activity using Lux read-outs.

Before moving to Nottingham, I was a research fellow in Warwick Systems Biology Centre (2008-2011), working with Prof. Nigel Burroughs on integrative Bayesian analysis of transcriptional regulation in the bacterium S. coelicolor as part of the European consortium (SysMO-STREAM). There I worked on integrating gene expression data with de novo binding sites data in a Bayesian framework in order to identify potential regulators and their targets. During my PhD (2004-2008) at the University of Kent, I worked on the development of machine learning and statistical inference techniques for the prediction of protein-protein interactions (and underlying domain-domain interactions) in yeast.

My broader research interests lie in computational systems biology, e.g., inference of biological networks (protein-protein interactions and gene regulatory networks), Binding sites prediction and analysis, and codon bias analysis in bacterial genomes. Also, I am generally interested in some statistical inference techniques like Belief Propagation/Message-Passing algorithms, model-based clustering methods, combinatorial optimization as well as wider areas of computational intelligence and data mining.
