Does this count as a life drawing? I dunno. It's my foot. I drew it in Wales. ...Pembrokeshire. ...On holiday with Abi, Barr and a load of other folks. This picture is the seed of a (barely started) painting of my feet in sandals reflected in the curved window of the tube, so that I consist only of shins with feet at the top and bottom.

These tree drawings were drawn in a life drawing class I did in at Walthamstow College in 2001. I have previously done 2 other life drawing classes (at Nathan's house when i was a kid, and then at Clarendon College Nottingham in 1998-9) so i have piles and piles of life drawings. ...But these are the best, I think.	This old man came in and took off his clothes and sat there very comfortably. Managed to look remarkably dignified for an old man in only his glasses, I think. Confidence is everything. The little figure in the corner is an old Chinese guy in our class, also drawing him. The bull below him wasn't really there (at least, I don't think it was).

I think this is my best life drawing to date. Of all the life models I've drawn she was the only one who crossed the invisible divide and came and talked to the artists. It changed the dynamics of the situation slightly. I dunno why the rest of them are not more curious about what's being drawn. Maybe you just get used to it. I'm glad i did a good picture of her.
